The Underground Ballroom is based in Lancaster, England.
What is the Underground Ballroom?
A Lancaster-based four-piece band performing their own highly original music - a distillation of 40 years of groove, group improvisation and gargantuan record collections.
The result is, to quote our good friend The Mule, "by turns visceral, enigmatic, menacing and heartachingly beautiful..."
Eh?
There's a distinct whiff of 1969 about proceedings (several tons of Hammond organ and Leslie speaker on the stage, and a valve guitar stack enrobed in lilac snakeskin leatherette), albeit with a distinctly modern sensibility.

Muscle Shoals, Deep Purple and Ornette Coleman.
Lee Perry, Traffic and the Green Manalishi.
